First things first, many people will not complete a program or succeed in their life’s dreams if they do not have the support of others. Support is when another individual agrees with what you are doing, or sees the value in it for you and your life. When receiving this type of support from another it helps to keep us motivated. Motivation is a reason an individual has that causes them to act or behave in a specific manner. In this case, it would motivate this person to continue to push forward and help them to get to their place of success.
Many times it is easier to receive the support of others when you are in the same place in your life. A challenge group is a group of like-minded people working on similar goals in fitness and health. As a fitness coach it is my job to create private online communities for my customers involved in these challenge groups where they can privately share their ups and downs, as well as nutrition tips and recipes with one another. A community is a group of people that have a feeling of fellowship with the others involved, as a result of sharing common attitudes, interests, and goals. Many times in these challenge groups individuals will begin to connect with one another creating friendships for life.
The main goal of a challenge group is to keep those involved accountable. When one is being accountable it means that they are showing they are responsible for their own actions. They take responsibility and share whether they were off track with their nutrition or did not do a workout. By sharing with the group, they are able to receive positive feed-back from others, helping them to not stop and give up. This, again, helps to keep them motivated to keep pushing forward, to continue to strive for the success they are after. These groups rely on honesty and commitment, just as anything else in life that is successful.
